Shakhtar Stalevi held a joint training session with the Veres Mriia amputee football team in Rivne
Shakhtar Stalevi footballers visited Rivne at the invitation of the newly formed Veres Mriia amputee football team. They held a joint training session, played a friendly match with mixed squads and shared valuable experience.
Bohdan Bilko, Shakhtar Stalevi head coach:
– We held a joint training session with the newly formed Veres Mriia amputee football team, carrying out theoretical and tactical exercises together with the players. Amputee football is currently making rapid progress: players are gaining valuable competitive experience, and new teams are emerging more and more frequently. The most important thing is that people want to play sports, strive to achieve high results and these opportunities are appearing for them.
In February 2024, FC Shakhtar announced the formation of an amputee team. The club became the first among the UPL teams to initiate the formation of such a team.
