Shakhtar Stalevi footballers participated in the event to support amputee football
On March 29, an event dedicated to the development and popularization of amputee football in Ukraine was held in Zhytomyr. Amputee football teams from different cities of the country joined the event. Shakhtar Stalevi footballers and AMP FC Vinnytsia visited Zhytomyr at the invitation of Amputee Football Club Tytany of Catholic Sports Club Don Bosco.
As part of the event, the footballers held a joint training session, during which the participants had the opportunity to exchange valuable experience, improve their technical skills and play a friendly match in mixed teams.
Ivan Artiukh, Shakhtar Stalevi midfielder:
– Unfortunately, a large number of people have lost limbs as a result of the war in Ukraine, so the development and support of adaptive sports are crucial for their reintegration and rehabilitation. During such events, participants create their own communities through sports and share experiences, which greatly contributes to their psychological rehabilitation. I hope that in the future, a fully-fledged amputee football league will be established, featuring exciting and real competition.
Such events play an important role in popularizing amputee football in Ukraine and are also an effective tool for the social adaptation and integration of people with amputations.
