Shakhtar women’s team are preparing for the season opener vs Pantery
On Friday, August 1, Shakhtar women’s team held a training session at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve ahead of their away match against Pantery Uman.
The session began with running drills and dynamic exercises focused on speed and spatial movement. Outfield players then split into teams for a small-sided game with various tactical instructions, while the goalkeepers worked separately on catching and reaction development. The main part of the session was dedicated to passing and decision-making speed in the final phase of attacks, and the day concluded with a mini-tournament.
Anastasiia Liakhovych, midfielder:
– We’re approaching the start of the season in good spirits as we’ve put in a lot of work during the training camp. At first, we focused on exercises to build overall endurance, and then we moved on to ball work. Today, we concentrated mainly on the final phase of attacks.
– The season kicks off on Sunday with an away match against Pantery Uman. What do you know about the opponents?
– Looking at the history of our head-to-head matches, of course we want to extend our winning run against this team, but we shouldn’t underestimate them. It’s important to understand that early results influence the team’s overall confidence. We’re preparing thoroughly and aiming for a positive outcome.
– What are the team and individual goals for the new season?
– Our main team objective is to finish in the top five. As for my personal goals, I definitely want to make a strong impression and secure a place in the starting line-up. There’s a lot of work and many exciting matches ahead, so we’ll be fighting for the highest possible spots.

We remind that this Sunday, August 3, Shakhtar women’s team will kick off the new season with an away match against Pantery. The game at the Central Stadium in Uman kicks off at 11:00.
