Shakhtar goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk reflects on the draw in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round against Panathinaikos (0-0)
– Dmytro, the match against Panathinaikos ended in a draw. How did this encounter go for Shakhtar? Was everything according to plan?
– We expected the game to be tough, especially away. At times the play was good, while in other moments it wasn’t, so I believe the result is fair. Everything will be decided in the match in Poland.
– You said some parts of the game went well and some didn’t. Which moments do you think didn’t go well and what was lacking for the win?
– Certain moments in the game didn’t go well, but overall, after the travel, we felt a bit tired. But that can’t be an excuse – we’ll play and see what happens next week.
– You acted very decisively and confidently during the match, and in many moments, you could say, even saved the team. How do you assess your own performance?
– I played well, but the whole team did great. We didn’t lose, but we didn’t win either; we gave our all, so, as I said, everything will be decided in Poland.
– Did the opponents impress you in any way?
– We studied our opponents and were prepared. To be honest, nothing impressed me.
– The second leg in Kraków is ahead. What are your expectations regarding the support and the upcoming match?
– Of course, we want the stadium to be full, so I invite all the fans to come and watch the return match in Kraków.
