Shakhtar women’s team are preparing for the final match of the year
On Wednesday, December 10, Shakhtar footballers held a training session focused on preparation for the match against Vorskla.
The session began with an activation warm-up, after which the girls moved on to running work. Next, the Miners split into two groups and concentrated on ball exercises, working on decision-making speed and passing accuracy. The session concluded with a small-sided game.
Sofiia Lutsan, defender:
– We are approaching the match against Vorskla in good spirits and we understand that this is the final game of the year. Today we held an intensive training session and I’m sure the upcoming ones will be the same. We are preparing for a good clash.
– You know Vorskla well. What is the strength of the reigning champions?
– Yes, I really do know Vorskla well as I previously played for the club. They are an experienced team with quality players who are regularly called up by Ukraine. I believe their strength lies in their rapport and unity, which is the key to success.
– Shakhtar approach the final match of the year sitting in the top five. How do you assess the team’s performance?
– This period has not been easy, but we still have one more match ahead. Perhaps we expected a better result, but everything can be made up for, and we are capable of doing it.
