Goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk, who made his 100th appearance for Shakhtar, commented on the match against Kolos
– Dmytro, if we analyse this game, do you think the final score was fair?
– I believe we fully controlled the game today, but controlling the game is one thing, and scoring and winning is another. We need to work on our finishing. Overall, we showed a good performance and maintained our structure. I think if we continue like this, everything will be fine for us.
– Indeed, there were quite a few good chances, but the final touch was missing. What else didn’t go well during today’s game? Were there any conditions that made it difficult?
– The conditions were the same for both sides. Today was a very tough game – as they all are. The players showed character and fighting spirit. Yes, we didn’t score, but we demonstrated excellent football, so we won’t be discouraged and will keep moving forward.
– This is the second consecutive draw and loss of points for Shakhtar. How would you comment on that?
– Yes, losing points is not good for us, but the championship is still long. So we are focusing on the next match and will keep playing.
– You returned to the starting line-up after your injury. How do you feel now and what was bothering you?
– I injured my adductor muscle and couldn’t make accurate passes. I’ve recovered a bit and feel better now, but probably it hasn’t fully healed yet. I need to have a medical check-up, and then we’ll decide what to do next.
– It seemed you were expected to return later, but it happened much sooner. Why?
– I was feeling good. I got on the pitch and trained – everything was great. As in today’s game, there were a couple of moments when I felt some discomfort, but overall everything was fine.
– With the first half of the season coming to an end, Shakhtar have two Conference League matches and one in the UPL remaining. What are the team’s objectives and expectations?
– The objective is simple – to step onto the pitch and win. We are Shakhtar; we need to win every match.
– Do you feel confident in both competitions right now?
– Yes, we are in a good position, as the Mister said. We’ve set a standard that we need to maintain and improve.
