Shakhtar women’s team are preparing for the test matches against DYuSSh Podil and Obolon
Shakhtar women's team continue their active preparation for the second part of the season, training at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve.
The session traditionally began with a running warm-up aimed at activating the muscles. Then, the coaching staff introduced a set of exercises focused on moves and improving interaction in the final phase. In total, the session lasted about two hours and ended with a small-sided game with tactical tasks.
Tetiana Kotovets, defender:
– Today, as usual, we started with a warm-up to prepare the muscles for further training, then switched practising the passing accuracy and finishing. After that, we played a small-sided game with various tactical tasks and finished the training with aerobic work.
– How would you assess your physical condition after a month of training, and how important are test matches in the preparation process?
– A lot of work has already been done, but I believe that you should always strive for the best and not stop at what you have achieved, so I continue to work hard. Friendlies play a crucial role in the team's preparation for the second half of the season, as they provide each player with the necessary workload and playing time.
– Shakhtar will play in the competitive group, so share your expectations for the second part of the season.
– We are very pleased that we managed to get into the top six of the league. We understand that there are difficult matches ahead, but these meetings are a great opportunity to demonstrate everything we are capable of. It is worth noting that matches against experienced teams help us progress.
We remind that Shakhtar women’s team will have two friendly meetings on Wednesday, February 12, against DYuSSh Podil and Obolon. The matches will take place at Rusanivets stadium, kicking off at 9:00 and 11:00 respectively.
