Shakhtar newcomer Brazilian forward Kaua Elias shared his impressions of the debut goal for the Miners in the test match against RFS (3-1)
– Elias, your first match for Shakhtar took place, even though it wasn't competitive. But we congratulate you on your debut! Share your feelings, how was everything?
– I'm happy to have played my first match, despite the friendly nature of the meeting. Of course, I was extremely glad to debut for a new club, and also to score a goal. I hope this is just the beginning of my help to the team – both in competitive matches and in any tournaments that await us. I hope this is just the first step towards new achievements and victories.
– As for your first goal, let's recall it, describe that episode.
– If we recall how the goal came about, a lot of the work was done by Marian – he made a beautiful pass, and I did what I do best – I was in the right place at the right time, at the near post, and managed to slot the ball into the net.
– You recently joined the team. Tell us how your adaptation in the team is going?
– Everything is great – I was well received by the Brazilians, Ukrainians and representatives of other nations. In general, the adaptation process is going quite well, again thanks to my teammates. I hope that I will be able to fit in as soon as possible and start bringing benefits to the team.
– How much do you understand the coach’s football requirements now?
– What I can definitely conclude is that Mister promotes an attacking style of football and also tries to involve both long and short passes from defence. And this generally suits my style of play. I’m a forward who likes to attack from deep, so I’m sure that the style of play we follow is quite comfortable for me and it will be interesting for me to play.
– Have Shakhtar Brazilians managed to share with you any secrets about Ukrainian football?
– No, they haven’t shared any secrets yet, but they’ve told me all the nuances, shared some valuable experiences, and given me some advice. Of course, it is also very useful to adapt to a rather unusual football style for me as quickly as possible. I’m sure that I will gain valuable knowledge in the process.
