– Of course, we are aware of the situation in the standings before the last round of the Champions League league phase, it affects the team's mood to some extent, but we can assure you that we, representatives of a club like Shakhtar, always set ourselves one goal: to win and to delight our fans with remarkable achievements on the football field, including the result. Therefore, there are no problems with motivation, and I can assure you that tomorrow we will take the field to make every possible effort and demonstrate our best qualities.
– I would like to hear your opinion on the Champions League format because the team play in January, which is quite atypical for Ukrainian football. So how do you organize matches at such a time, when there are no UPL matches and the team can calmly train and prepare for a week? (ua.tribuna.com)
– Still, I believe that it is more difficult for us due to our physical fitness. When you are constantly in playing form, having at least one game a week, it is better for you as a footballer, for your health. Training sessions are, of course, important, but the best physical form and condition are maintained through regular play. However, we cannot influence this situation, so training sessions and friendly matches remain essential. It is crucial to stay professional and give 100 percent, even in this format. In my opinion, we completely succeeded in this in the match against Brest, we managed to please the fans with a good victory and, most importantly, impressive play. I am sure that we will be able to repeat this achievement tomorrow as well.
– In the last match, five Brazilians and five Ukrainians were in the starting line-up. Tell us, in which language did you communicate more during the game and was it easier to communicate with your teammates on the football field? (ua-football.com)
– If we talk about such basic communication moments, then, of course, it is always easier to communicate in your native language. But at Shakhtar, as Mister often likes to say, there is no division into nationalities: the only nation in the team is Shakhtar nation. And when we win, it’s not the Brazilians or the Ukrainians who win, it’s Shakhtar who win. In the previous game against Brest, we could see excellent international interaction. Many of our Ukrainian teammates created excellent chances for us, helped the Brazilians to score, and the Brazilians helped the Ukrainians. Therefore, I am absolutely convinced that, yes, the communication moment was important, but not decisive.

– Yes, of course, I can assure you that there is a very big interest in every Shakhtar match in Brazil. Unfortunately, as you might have guessed, for various reasons it is difficult to watch UPL matches live in Brazil, but the Champions League is exactly the showcase that people all over the world, including my home country, have the opportunity to see. So I can confidently say that many of my relatives, friends and people in Brazil will be following tomorrow's match. We will do our best to delight them with good performance and prove once again that their interest is not in vain.
