Shakhtar forward Lassina Traore spoke about how he managed to score three goals in the friendly and shared his thoughts on pre-season preparations
– Lassina, you came off the bench in the friendly against Brinje and scored a hat-trick. What does that mean to you?
– Of course, the goals are very important because a forward’s main job is to score. So I’m absolutely delighted to score. I’ll keep working on improving my physical form, wait for opportunities and do my best to help the team.
– All three goals were very similar. Tell us how you scored.
– It’s part of our usual training routine that we work on regularly: a cross from the left wing, and the key is being in the right place at the right time to finish it off, which I managed to do three times in this match, and I’m absolutely thrilled about that. We’ll keep working on improving our automatism.
– Did you speak to Arda Turan before coming on? If so, what did he say to you?
– Yes, of course, we spoke both right before the game and generally during training sessions. He emphasised how important it is to get into the box in order to be able to finish those kinds of chances and turn them to our advantage.
– Have you managed to reach good fitness during this training camp and how would you assess Shakhtar’s preparations for the season?
– Yes, I’m in great form now. I feel that over these three weeks we’ve learned a lot and improved both our fitness and our understanding of the playing vision the coach is offering. I think we’re on the right path and we just need to keep working hard.
