The Orange-and-Blacks are preparing for their first friendlies and UEFA Europa League matches

Shakhtar footballers continue to rediscover their form at the pre-season training camp in Brdo, Slovenia. On Tuesday, July 1, Arda Turan’s side had another intense workload with three training sessions throughout the day.

As usual on such days, the first session began at 7:15 local time. The Miners went straight to the pitch for a warm-up and a series of game-based exercises, then worked at four stations focusing on coordination, acceleration, passing and shooting.

In the afternoon, under the supervision of fitness coaches, the Orange-and-Blacks trained in two groups at the gym. In the evening, they returned to the pitch to work on ball control in squares with a focus on combination play, various game scenarios and tactical elements. The day concluded with a mini-tournament organised by the coaching staff.

The highlights of the three training sessions are available in the photo gallery.

As a reminder, Shakhtar are preparing in Slovenia for their debut pre-season friendlies against Gorica and Slovácko set for later this week, as well as the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round matches against Ilves. The home European fixture will take place on July 10, tickets are on sale.
