Shakhtar women’s team finished their summer training camp
On Friday, July 25, Shakhtar women’s team held their final training session of the summer camp in Shchaslyve as part of their preparations for the new season.
The session began, as usual, with a light running warm-up before the players moved on to a series of aerobic and recreational exercises focused on operating in tight spaces and improving decision-making speed. The main part of the training featured a small-sided game within a limited part of the pitch.
Nataliia Chendei, forward:
– I want to emphasise that the team coped well with the training camp despite its difficulty. The first weeks were mainly focused on running drills, but later we got used to the load and moved on to tactical work.
– Are you satisfied with your physical fitness after the training camp?
– There is always room for improvement. Physically, I think everything is good, but in terms of psychology, some work still needs to be done. It is important to start the season successfully and gradually improve from game to game.
– In a week, Shakhtar will start the new season with an away match against Pantery Uman. What are your expectations for this game and your goals for the season overall?
– I expect an exciting clash. The main thing is that we show quality play and good rapport. Previous matches against Pantery have been tough – they truly have a strong, united squad. As for goals for the season, of course, I set only the highest ones. I really want the team to fight for the top spots.
Shakhtar’s women’s team have been given three days off and will then begin the preparation cycle for the opening match of the new Vyshcha League season against Pantery Uman.
The highlights of the training session are available in the photo gallery.
