Children from Croatia, Ukraine and other countries will train in the hometown of the legend of the Miners
On July 2, the summer children’s football camp of Darijo Srna, in partnership with FC Shakhtar, opened in Metkovic, Croatia. A rich programme is planned for the participants: training based on FC Shakhtar’s methodology, morning and evening sessions, nutritionist lectures, individual work with the goalkeeping coach and much more. Training sessions take place on new high-quality football pitches located near the hometown of the legendary captain of the Miners and Croatia national team.

– I have a lot of emotions today. This is my hometown, this is the pitch where I began my football journey, and I’m very glad to connect my emotions with Shakhtar. Shakhtar is forever in my heart, and I’m happy when I see children wearing the club’s crests at our joint football camp. I discussed this idea with CEO Serhii Palkin even before the full-scale invasion, but unfortunately, the war brought about changes. Now I feel the time has come to open the DS33 Academy together with Shakhtar Donetsk. About 85 children registered for the first camp and the second group will have a similar number. Let the children enjoy every training session and make friends with each other. I very much hope that some of these kids will play for Shakhtar in the future.
The opening of the Darijo Srna and FC Shakhtar summer training camp was attended by celebrities, including another Croatian football legend and former Shakhtar assistant head coach Mario Stanic.

The Darijo Srna and FC Shakhtar summer football camp will operate in two shifts: from July 2 to 6, children born between 2014 and 2018 will train, and from July 9 to 13, teenagers born between 2010 and 2014 will attend sessions. Currently, the camp hosts 85 children from Croatia, Ukraine, and the UAE.
