Shakhtar midfielder Yehor Nazaryna shared his impressions of the friendly match against Slovácko
– Yegor, the friendly against Czech side Slovácko has just ended. Please sum up the match.
– It was a decent game. A very tough team, so I think it was a good test match for us as we prepare for an important Europa League qualifier. I think we put in a solid performance.
– You was injured in the previous friendly and it seemed to be a serious one. How are you feeling now and what was bothering you?
– Yes, it seemed serious at first, but thank God, everything is fine now. I’m not feeling any discomfort, and I’m really happy about that.
– Shakhtar will soon play their first competitive European match. What do you personally know about Ilves and how would you assess the opponents?
– To be honest, we haven’t analysed or watched them yet. I think we’ll start preparing for the game tomorrow. I believe they’re a decent team as there are no weak opponents in the Europa League qualifiers. We are expecting a tough game and will do everything we can to advance.
– After such an intense and productive training process, how ready are the team for the first competitve match?
– Well, how ready we are will be shown by that first competitive game. But we had a very productive 16 days with plenty of training sessions. I think we are physically ready. Maybe we didn’t have quite enough time to work out all the mechanisms the coach wants to see, but we are stepping up with every game and getting better. I hope we’ll show on the pitch exactly what the coaching staff expects from us in the first official encounter.
