Midfielder of the Pitmen Kevin shared his emotions after winning the vote for the most valuable player of the season at Shakhtar
– Kevin, you became Shakhtar’s best player in the 2024/25 season. What does this mean to you?
– This is truly a very important achievement for me, recognition of my merits. The season was difficult in many aspects, and I am glad that I am useful both personally and, above all, for the shared achievements of the team as a whole. Of course, we will aim for the highest accomplishments in the new season.
– Does this award give you even more confidence?
– Of course! This is an award that further motivates me, confirms that my efforts during the previous season did not go unnoticed, and inspires me to achieve new things together with my teammates for the benefit of the club.
– What are your thoughts on your own progress in the last season?
– I think, first of all, I have become more mature as a player, I have shown the necessary resilience throughout the season, I have managed to score important goals and provide assists, which were also necessary in the context of the fight for trophies. As for future accomplishments, I hope that I can increase my potential for the benefit of the club.
– What match, moment or goal is the most memorable for you?
– I would probably choose two of my goals in the Champions League: the first one in the game against Bayern München, the second one in the match against Brest. If I recall the goal against Bayern, it was my debut goal in the Champions League, so it is definitely very special and memorable.
– Many fans supported you in this vote. What would you like to say to them?
– Of course, I am very grateful to you and I really appreciate that you noticed my efforts and noted them in your fan choice! However, I would like to point out that this is not only my personal merit, but the club’s achievement as well. I also congratulate my teammate Zhora Sudakov (he came second in the poll) – he had a good season and received an award from UEFA in the Champions League match.
