Shakhtar midfielder Alisson Santana shared his impressions of his UPL debut after the match against Karpaty
– Alisson, you made your official debut for Shakhtar despite not having trained with the team yet and having joined the club only a few days ago. What are your emotions and did you expect to appear on the pitch?
– Of course, I’m extremely happy with my debut. It's important for me that I was able to appear at such a crucial moment for the team. It says a lot. I was preparing, I will be honest, I probably did not expect to play right now, but it was a really nice debut. Overall, I’m satisfied with the way the team played. Unfortunately, the result cannot leave us satisfied. We have to keep working, but, again, I’m grateful to the coach for the opportunity to make my debut for Shakhtar first team. This is really important to me.
– Watching the game during the first half and taking part in the second half, what are your impressions of Ukrainian football?
– As I emphasized, the team performed excellently, in my opinion. Perhaps what was really lacking was finishing, some kind of efficiency in the final third of the field. Although we had a great match in terms of organizing the team pattern, building and overall team effort. Basically, if we talk about my adaptation, I believe that I have all the prerequisites to adapt to local football quite quickly. In Ukraine, football is really at a high level, but there are many Brazilians in our team who are already helping me with advice. I think there is every chance to quickly join the team play and adapt to Ukrainian football in general.
