Shakhtar women’s team are preparing for the away clash with Seasters Odesa
On Tuesday, March 25, Shakhtar women's team held a training session at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve ahead of the meeting with Seasters.
The session began with running and activation exercises, then the field players switched to squares, while the goalkeeper, under the guidance of Dmytro Shutkov, worked on her reaction. At the end, the coaching staff instructed the players to practise transitioning from defence to attack.
Viktoriia Holovach, captain:
– We held a pre-match training session, during which we warmed up, played squares and had shooting drills at the end.
– The beginning of the second stage of the Vyshcha League turned out to be tough for Shakhtar. How do the results affect the team's condition and motivation?
– Of course, the results affect us because they are negative. We should give a proper respect to Metalist 1925, who managed to put the squeeze on us. It's a pity that we couldn't preserve the result – we could have finished the game differently, but it's difficult when there's constant pressure throughout the match. However, we move on and do our job.
– Shakhtar play Seasters tomorrow. – What is known about the opponents and what do you expect from the match?
– Seasters are a good team, and as far as I understand, we are at about the same level. Football is quite unpredictable, so we need to prepare, play and prove that we deserve a place in the top six of the league.
We remind the Vyshcha League second stage MD3 game between Seasters and Shakhtar will take place at the Chornomorets stadium tomorrow, March 26. It kicks off at 12:00.
