Shakhtar U19 faced Chornomorets Odesa U19 away in the Youth League round 27
The coaching staff of the Orange-and-Blacks made a change from the previous encounter, selecting the following line-up: Kravets took the place between the sticks, Drozd and Halonskyi appeared as fullbacks, Oharkov and Bashmarin acted at centre-back, Bundash, Smetana and Tsukanov formed the midfield, Zheliba and Zubrii were deployed as wingers, with Tiutiunov taking the central forward position.
Active half and 4 goals
The opponents started the match actively and exchanged dangerous moments in the opening minutes: the Odessa side responded to Tiutiunov's powerful shot with a successful counterattack, which Lebid finished with a precise shot. Five minutes later, the Orange-and-Blacks had a chance to level the score, but Pirozhok reacted to Tsukanov's effort by turning the ball into a corner. However, the next Miners’ attack proved successful: Following a delivery, Drozd drove down the flank and sent a cross into the box; the goalkeeper, attempting to intercept, parried the ball straight to Smetana, who slotted it home with his second touch. The Pitmen dominated possession and used their territorial advantage to threaten Pirozhok’s goal more frequently. However, the next truly dangerous chance was created by the hosts: Lebid broke free and found the unmarked Fatianov, who was unable to put his team ahead. In the 30th minute, Shakhtar U19 coaching staff was forced to make a substitution: Reshetnikov replaced the injured Drozd. Towards the end of the half, the Miners increased the pressure with quick flank attacks. They first took the lead through Zubrii’s clinical finish, and soon doubled their advantage thanks to Smetana, who was the first to pursue rebounds.
Control over the play
After the break, Kaliuzhnyi appeared on the pitch instead of Halonskyi. The second half began with a dangerous chance near Kravets' goal: Fatianov fired from the semi-circle, hitting the post. In the 56th minute, the game was suspended due to an air raid alert in the Odessa region, which lasted for 19 minutes. Once it ended, the teams returned to the field and resumed the match after a brief warm-up. During this time, the Orange-and-Blacks made a double substitution, with Sereda and Davydenko entering the pitch. The Miners controlled the pace of the game, maintained possession and prevented the hosts from creating any real threat near Kravets’ goal. The left flank, where the Kaliuzhnyi–Zubrii duo operated, was especially active. They came close to extending the Pitmen’s lead, but Zubrii’s shot was blocked by the defenders, and Mykyta narrowly missed the target while trying to connect with a cross. In the 84th minute, the Odessa-based side were reduced to ten men: Kozyr, attempting to stop Zubrii from going one-on-one with the goalkeeper, committed a foul and was shown a straight red card. It didn't take long for the Pitmen to convert their numerical advantage: Kaliuzhnyi burst into the penalty area from the flank and delivered a cross to Tsukanov, who finished the attack accurately. And already in added time, Bashmarin sealed the win.
5-1 – Shakhtar's U19 secured a confident away win over their Chornomorets counterparts . The Miners will face Zorya Luhansk U19 next Thursday, May 8.
