Shakhtar midfielder Oleh Ocheretko shared his emotions after signing a new deal with the club
– Oleh, you have extended your contract with Shakhtar and you are an academy graduate of this team, so what does it mean to you?
– For me, it is a matter of pride to be able to represent my club where I grew up and spent all my childhood. I’m very happy!
– How many years is this contract set for?
– Five.
– Recall the moment when you signed your first professional contract with Shakhtar and compare the emotions you felt then with the ones you feel now.
– During the first signing it was very emotional as now I have already become more mature. And when I was young and was told that I was signing a contract with Shakhtar senior team – it was an incredible feeling.
– Is there less euphoria this time?
– The euphoria is there, but yes, a little less.
– What journey have you already gone through with the team and what do you expect from the coming years?
– I hope to help win European competitions and the league, for Shakhtar to always win.
– And still, what journey have you already gone through over these years?
– A difficult one. You know, there were good moments and not so good ones. If we look at all my childhood and now, the journey has been a bit turbulent, full of obstacles.
– How can you describe your role and functions at Shakhtar?
– An ordinary lad who loves to play – that’s all.
– You still do not consider yourself a leader of this team?
– No, no.
– What goals and dreams do you have and what do you plan to achieve together with Shakhtar?
– To reach great heights, for Shakhtar to always win and delight the supporters with victories.
– And your personal dreams?
– Probably to win the Champions League – that is my dream.
