Shakhtar youth team faced their Kryvbas counterparts in the U19 National League round 14

Shakhtar U19 head coach Oleksii Bielik selected the following line-up for the clash with Kryvbas: Bahlai was in goal, Strilchuk and Kaliuzhnyi operated as fullbacks, Mylokost and Kostiuk played in central defence, Bundash, Smetana and Tsukanov formed the midfield, Petruk and Tiutiunov appeared on the wings, with Kanteh leading the line.

A half controlled by the Orange-and-Blacks

The Miners took possession from the start and tried to reach the final third, actively using the flanks. Petruk’s flank stood out in particular: he first earned a rather promising set piece near Danladi’s goal, and later broke into the penalty area himself, but could not finish the move. Bundash, however, made the most of his chance in the 10th minute: after a lay-off from Kanteh, he curled a long-range effort straight into the corner – 1-0. The Red-and-Whites immediately pushed forward and two minutes later Bodnar found himself in a shooting position – Bahlai saved. But the Orange-and-Blacks kept up the tempo and continued to press. First, after a deflection off a defender, the chance fell to Tsukanov: he chipped the goalkeeper, but the ball went over the bar. Soon after, Petruk arrived to meet a cross and doubled the lead with a precise finish – 2-0. In the 21st minute, the Red-and-Whites managed to pull one back: Kaliuzhnyi fouled Williams in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty, which Bodnar confidently converted. A battle for every ball followed, with plenty of minor fouls. Most of the danger came from set pieces and the most threatening was Bundash’s shot – the ball went over. Kanteh could have increased the Pitmen’s lead in the 38th minute after a splitting pass from Tiutiunov, but the goalkeeper closed the distance in time and pushed it out for a corner. Right before the break, after a wing cross from Petruk, Smetana struck first time – Danladi saved the Red-and-Whites again.

Goals galore after the break

The second half began with a quick goal for the Pitmen: Tsukanov carried the ball through the centre and passed to Kanteh, who outpaced his opponents and found the target. The Orange-and-Blacks enjoyed territorial dominance and did not allow their opponents to organise counterattacks. Their combination play produced a dangerous chance for Bundash (his shot went over the bar) and another goal for Kanteh, who burst into the penalty area, held off the defender with his body, beat the goalkeeper and finished accurately to make the score crushing. Soon after, following a well-worked move near the centre circle, Smetana threatened Danladi’s goal – straight into the goalkeeper’s hands. In the 68th minute, the Orange-and-Black coach made a double substitution: Harabazhii and Zubrii replaced Bundash and Mylokost. Despite their sizeable lead, the Miners continued to control the game in the Red-and-Whites’ half and put together another effective attack: Smetana switched the ball to Petruk, who broke into the penalty area and squared for Tiutiunov to finish. The closing minutes were controlled by Shakhtar U19, and Tiutiunov sealed the win with a well-taken shot.

6-1 – Shakhtar U19 confidently defeat Kryvbas U19. Oleksii Bielik’s side will play their next league game against Kolos Kovalivka U19 away on December 5. The clash at the Kolos TC kicks off at 13:00.
