On October 22, FC Shakhtar CEO celebrates his birthday
Under the leadership of Serhii Palkin, FC Shakhtar has been the most successful and decorated football club in Ukraine. The team have won 34 trophies, including 14 league titles, 10 Ukrainian Cups, 9 national Super Cups and the only international trophy in the history of independent Ukrainian football – the UEFA Cup. Every season, the Miners proudly represent Ukraine on the European stage and have a reputation in the global football community as an ambitious club with a clear development strategy and a modern organisational approach.
An important indicator of effective management remains the club’s financial stability. Shakhtar is the record-holder in Ukrainian football for revenues generated from transfers and commercial activity, as well as for the total amount of taxes paid annually to the state budget of Ukraine. Today, the club’s main off-field focus is extensive humanitarian and charitable work. For many years, Shakhtar has actively developed children’s grassroots football in the country, and during the full-scale war, it has supported both the frontline and civilians, assisted in the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers.
