Shakhtar goalkeeper Kirill Fesiun shared his impressions from the Conference League match against Legia
– Kirill, Shakhtar dropped points, but this match against Legia was your European debut. You probably have no emotions left after the game, but what are you thinking right now?
– There is only one emotion – negativity, because we lost. After we conceded, I think we played quite well, but you need to get the most out of such clashes.
– Where exactly did Shakhtar fall short and what caused the two goals conceded?
– I think we’ll go over that in theory. Right now, the Mister and his staff will analyse the game and explain everything to us. I believe there are negative feelings, bad emotions, but we need to move forward, I think everything is still ahead of us.
– How do you personally cope with your emotions after such matches?
– To be honest, I just want to forget it somehow because the result didn’t reflect the game. And it hits the ego a bit – when you see them celebrating while we walk off with our heads down. So, overall, I just want to forget this match.
– Before the match, there was a lot of talk about the unstable situation at Legia due to their results, atmosphere and statements from the head coach. How did Legia feel to you on the pitch?
– Honestly, I didn’t follow the team at all, and the coaches’ statements don’t interest me. We are focused on our own play, our own coach, our own philosophy, so I don’t concern myself with the opponents.
– But how did Legia play on the pitch, how did you feel them?
– They allowed us to play and we should have taken more from this game.
– What is most important now after such a match? What lessons should be learned?
– We need to get through this difficult game, work on our mistakes and keep working. We have a very busy month, so we need to take it game by game and focus only on winning.
