Shakhtar player visited his former school and held an autograph session for young fans
On Monday, October 6, Shakhtar player Marian Shved visited the Lviv Linguistic Gymnasium, where he once studied, to meet its students and congratulate the staff on Teacher’s Day, which was celebrated in Ukraine the day before. First and foremost, the player warmly greeted his former form tutor and other mentors, thanking them for their guidance and the unforgettable years he spent at school. The teachers said they are very proud of Marian, and he is known by almost everyone at the gymnasium.

– The emotions are nostalgic. I studied here for 11 years, so there’s a lot to remember. Seeing my teachers is always a pleasure. I wouldn’t say I was an outstanding student, but I tried my best. I’ve been playing football since I was a child, so I did what I could. Overall, I’m just happy to be back here.
Next came Marian Shved’s meeting with the gymnasium students, which, of course, started in a sporty way: he held a warm-up session for the fifth graders and played football with them together with the PE teacher, who also taught him at school. The teachers jokingly suggested that Marian should teach PE at the gymnasium, as the children had never been so disciplined before.

– Very positive emotions! We would like to thank Marian for coming to his alma mater; everyone was eagerly waiting for him. He was a good student, a great footballer and he loved PE. I always use him as an example for my students.
Marian Shved came to his former school bearing gifts: he presented the gymnasium with branded footballs for PE lessons and a Shakhtar flag with his personal signature. At the end of the meeting, everyone interested could get the player’s autograph and take a commemorative photo.
