Shakhtar women’s team are preparing for their match against Ladomyr
On Wednesday, September 3, Shakhtar women’s team held an intensive two-hour training session at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve.
The session traditionally began with aerobic relay exercises aimed at developing speed. Next, the outfield players moved on to drills focused on improving tactical coordination and practising specific game scenarios, while the goalkeepers followed a separate programme. At the end, the players returned to relays and finished with a small-sided game.
Anastasiia Sikorska, midfielder:
– After a short break, we worked on speed and strength aspects, gradually increasing the volume of ball exercises. In particular, today’s session was very intensive with a large workload.
– Shakhtar women’s team will face Ladomyr away in the next round of the Vyshcha League. What do you expect from this clash?
– Ladomyr are a young and promising team with top-quality players in their squad. We expect a competitive game with lots of challenges. We need to give our all to achieve a positive result.
– Shakhtar have collected 9 points out of 12 at the start of the season. How do you assess the beginning of the league campaign?
– Indeed, we’ve started the season well, winning the first three rounds. Unfortunately, we couldn’t beat Seasters, but we are working on ourselves, analysing mistakes and striving to improve with every training session.
We remind that Shakhtar women’s team will play away against Volodymyr-based Ladomyr this Sunday, September 7. The match at the Olimp Stadium kicks off at 12:00.
