Shakhtar goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk shared his emotions after the victory over AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Conference League quarter-finals in an interview with MEGOGO
– Congratulations on the win! What are your emotions from the match against AZ?
– We prepared for the game as best as possible. Now we can say that we got everything right, although it was difficult to do so with our schedule and the amount of travelling. However, our management did everything to ensure comfort, so we achieved this result. Moreover, our president came, who had not been at the stadium for a long time, and I hope we made him happy. We have taken a small step, but we still have to travel to Alkmaar, so we will get ready for the next match.
– You and your teammates said in interviews that you only started analysing AZ two days ago. How do you prepare for matches like this in such a short period?
– We have been playing in this rhythm for the fourth or fifth year already, so it is normal for us. We have a schedule that we follow.
– You had to help the team a bit. Overall, it seemed calmer until the first goal as AZ Alkmaar played with five defenders, but you had to work hard in the end. Were you ready for something more from the opponents in attack?
– I worked hard because my wife said that if I conceded, I should not come home. It is her birthday, so I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate her. We prepared carefully and knew their strengths, so everything worked out in the first leg.
