Shakhtar Stalevi are competing in the 2026 Ukrainian Amputee Football Championship

Shakhtar Stalevi began their campaign in the second edition of the Ukrainian Amputee Football Championship as part of the League of the Mighty social project under the auspices of the Ukrainian Association of Football.

On April 4–5, in the first round of the Super League, the Orange-and-Blacks faced Vikinhy, Metalist 1925 Nezlamni and MSC Dnipro. As a reminder, the competition consists of five rounds across two divisions – the Super League and the First League, and the championship winners will represent Ukraine in the EAFF Champions League in 2027.

Shakhtar Stalevi 2-1 (0-1) Vikinhy

The match began with dangerous set piece routines from the Miners near the Vikinhy’s goal area and attempts from Artiukh, but first the ball went over the target, and then the goalkeeper denied the effort. The Orange-and-Blacks quickly took control, and in the 6th minute, Nedzelskyi fired just wide of the post. In the next moment, Romaniuk came close to opening the scoring, but his effort went over the bar. However, in first-half added time, Vikinhy took the lead after Konon converted a penalty awarded for handball in the goal area. Shakhtar Stalevi started the second half with a quick attacking move, finished by Nedzelskyi. The Orange-and-Blacks controlled possession and created more shooting opportunities, while Vikinhy focused on counterattacks and threats from set pieces. In the end, the closing stages were dramatic, and Nedzelskyi sealed the result with a decisive shot.

In the 8th minute, Metalist 1925 Nezlamni produced a well-worked team move, finished with a precise shot by Kudenko. Afterwards, the teams played end-to-end football with strong battles across the pitch, but without major danger in front of goal, apart from Romaniuk’s effort that came close under the crossbar. In the second half, the contest remained evenly matched with exchanges of attacks. In the 24th minute, Romaniuk could have equalised, but he shot straight at the goalkeeper in the one-on-one situation. Five minutes later, Mykhasiuk split the Kharkiv side's defence with a pass to Artiukh – but the goalkeeper saved again. The Pitmen increased the pressure with every minute, and in the 40th minute, Nedzelskyi beat Roh and converted a penalty.
