Shakhtar midfielder Yehor Nazaryna shared his thoughts on the win over Epicentr
– Yehor, congratulations on the win and your first goal of the season. Shakhtar have kept a clean sheet for the 500th time in the Ukrainian league. Are you happy with the performance?
– The 500th clean sheet is certainly a milestone, I think it’s a decent achievement. The most important thing is that we won. Whether I scored or not… I’ll say it again: the main thing is that the team won because you get three points for every game. This clash was like a final, and every game is like a final. The most important thing is that we won.
– What changed most in Shakhtar’s play after the break, given that both goals were scored in the second half?
– After the break, we understood that we needed to score, but we played in the same way as in the first half. However, we managed to take our chances, and that’s the main thing. We had several chances in the first half, but couldn’t convert them. In the second half, we came out and, thank God, took our chances and won 2-0.
– Both goals were scored by central midfielders. Do you work on these situations in training?
– Yes, we do. There was a cross, Mendoza put in a great delivery, and Oleh made a run and scored – of course, we work on that. As for my shot… The coaches ask me to shoot from distance when there are situations like that. I picked up the loose ball and thought: why not have a shot? I did – and scored.
