Artem Bondarenko to join Al Ahli on loan

The Shakhtar Academy graduate will continue his season with Asia’s strongest team
26-year-old midfielder Artem Bondarenko is moving to Saudi side Al Ahli Jeddah from Shakhtar on loan until June 30, 2027, with an option to make the transfer permanent.
Artem Bondarenko joined the Shakhtar Academy in 2016 and made his first-team debut for the Miners in March 2020. In total, he made 169 appearances for the Orange-and-Blacks, scoring 34 goals and providing 29 assists. Together with the Miners, Bondarenko won 7 trophies: 4 Ukrainian Premier League titles (2020, 2023, 2024, 2026), 2 Ukrainian Cups (2024, 2025) and 1 Ukrainian Super Cup (2021).
Al Ahli Jeddah are the winners of the last 2 editions of the AFC Champions League (2025, 2026) and finished third in last season’s Saudi Pro League. The team are managed by former Shakhtar head coach Marino Pusic.
