Shakhtar new signing Gabriel Carvalho reflects on his first impressions, meeting the team and expectations for the next stage of his career
– Welcome to Shakhtar! What were your first emotions when you found out about the club’s interest?
– I was very happy when I found out that such a big club as Shakhtar was interested in me. It really motivated and pleased me.
– Why did you decide to join Shakhtar?
– I decided to join Shakhtar because of the club’s stature and the great opportunities it offers for my career. The club has a great history and it can give me a wonderful experience. For me, this is an important step in my career.
– What do you know about the club and its history?
– Shakhtar is a big club with a rich history and strong football traditions, and it is highly respected in Ukraine and across Europe. Many top players have played here, including a number of Brazilians.
– Have you spoken to the coach and your new teammates? What were your first impressions?
– I spoke to Arda before arriving, and when I got here, I met the players, some of whom I already knew from the national team. Everyone welcomed me very warmly straight away. I felt great and I’m very happy with how I was welcomed!
– Tell us about your first training session with Shakhtar.
– It was an extremely intense training session with some very high-quality players. I liked the intensity and the level of the team. I believe I can learn a lot and improve significantly.
– Can you describe yourself as a player to Shakhtar fans?
– I’m a technical player with good passing and finishing. I like helping the team and always try to give my all on the pitch. I try to do everything I can to be useful.
– Is playing in the UEFA Champions League an additional motivation for you? What are you looking forward to most from this experience?
– Yes, it is an additional motivation because I think every player dreams of playing in the Champions League. It is something special for any footballer. I hope everything goes well and that it will be a great experience.
– What goals have you set yourself at your new club?
– It’s about helping Shakhtar with goals and assists and winning trophies together. I want to contribute as much as possible to the team and help achieve our goals.
– What would you like to say to the Shakhtar fans?
– I want to say that I’m very happy to be here. I will work hard, give my all on the pitch and do everything I can to help Shakhtar win many trophies. I hope I can make our fans happy with my performances!
