Shakhtar Social and with the club’s partner Parallel-branded filling station chain held an event for children with special educational needs as part of the You Are the Hero of Children’s Dreams project

On Sunday, August 30, the Shakhtar Social charitable foundation and the club’s partner Parallel-branded filling station chain held an event for children with special educational needs at the A+ Academy of Modern Education as part of the You Are the Hero of Children’s Dreams project. The social initiative provides regular training sessions for children, as well as events aimed at supporting and developing them.

The children took part in an interactive session with an entertainer and also had the opportunity to showcase their creativity through football-themed colouring activities.
Caring for children and creating opportunities for them even in the most difficult times is an investment in the future that matters to society as a whole
Natalia Nikeshyna, Parallel-M Ltd Director of Marketing:

– For Parallel, social responsibility is not about one-off participation in individual initiatives, but about consistent, long-term work on projects that have a real impact on people’s lives. That is why our partnership with Shakhtar Social and the opportunity to create moments of support and positive emotions for children, particularly those with special educational needs, are so important to us. Since the beginning of our cooperation, we have already implemented a number of joint initiatives and see great potential for their further development. We want this support to be consistent and long-term, as we are convinced that caring for children and creating opportunities for them even in the most difficult times is an investment in the future that matters to society as a whole. We are confident that many more joint projects and important stories lie ahead.

A separate part of the event was a meeting with Shakhtar women’s team captain Viktoriia Holovach. The footballer spoke with the children, answered their questions, presented them with gifts and took individual and group photos with the participants.
It is important that the Shakhtar Social charitable foundation and Parallel are involved in initiatives aimed at supporting children, particularly those with special educational needs
Viktoriia Holovach, Shakhtar women’s team captain:

– It is important that the Shakhtar Social charitable foundation and Parallel are involved in initiatives aimed at supporting children, particularly those with special educational needs. I believe that events like this are extremely important. I would also like to pay tribute to the parents raising children with special educational needs as I understand how challenging it is.

The event gave the children an opportunity to socialise, take part in creative activities and take their minds off the daily realities of the war, air raid alerts and shelling.
We live and work in difficult circumstances, so it is important for children to feel supported and know that there are people around them who care
Yevhen Strelnykov, Come On, Let's Play! project coach:

– Initiatives like this are very much needed, and it is important that Shakhtar Social and the Parallel-branded filling station chain support children. We live and work in difficult circumstances, so it is important for children to feel supported and know that there are people around them who care.

It should be noted that anyone who visits a Parallel-branded filling station can support the You Are the Hero of Children’s Dreams initiative. As part of the “coffee fundraiser”, UAH 2 from each hot drink purchased in a charity cup is donated to social projects.
