Shakhtar U19 defender Stanislav Shukalovych shared his thoughts after the victory over Lviv U19
– The month-long training camp was quite intense and demanding, so when we went into the match against Lviv U19, we had no doubts about getting a positive result. I'm glad the team won – all the lads did a great job.
– You were in complete control of the game, spending most of the time in possession in the opposition's half. Did you still face any difficulties?
– I think that's fair to say. Of course, there were some nerves at the start, but then we took control of the ball, pinned the oppositions back in their own half and created chances. Unfortunately, we didn't take our opportunities in the first half, but everything came together in the second.
– You opened the scoring and got Shakhtar U19 off the mark for the new season. What did you feel at that moment?
– It's always a great feeling to score, especially in a game like that, but every goal is a team effort. Of course, it gives you confidence and lifts your spirits. But tomorrow is a new day, and we'll start preparing for our next opponents.
– What are your objectives for the new season?
– The aim is always the same. When you wear the Shakhtar crest on your chest, you always have to improve, win and fight for the league title. As I'm more focused on my defensive duties now, I also want to keep as many clean sheets as possible.
