Shakhtar women’s team played a friendly against Ukraine WU17 during the league break
Shakhtar footballers are filling the two-week break in the league schedule caused by Ukrainian clubs' participation in European competitions with training sessions and a friendly against Ukraine WU17. Shakhtar head coach Roman Zaiev selected the following starting line-up for the friendly: Ustinova was in goal, Sikorska, Balatska, Henyk and Mokhnach started in defence, Kuksa, Veherych and Liakhovych appeared in midfield, Zavidova and Holovach operated on the wings with a trialist up front.

The Orange-and-Blacks created their first chance as early as the 2nd minute when Veherych came close to opening the scoring, but her effort struck the crossbar. The Ukraine footballers looked to threaten with long-rangers, but Ustinova dealt confidently with everything that came her way. Shakhtar eventually established control in the opposition half and took the lead: Holovach drove down the flank, cut inside towards the penalty area and squared the ball for Veherych, who fired a first-time finish into the top corner. The Blue-and-Yellows briefly grew into the game and managed to threaten Ustinova's goal: First, Boichuk came close to restoring parity with a powerful long-range effort that flashed just wide of the post, and then, in stoppage time, Voloshchuk squandered a glorious chance following a set-piece routine.

Following the break, Shakhtar made a number of changes to their line-up. The Miners continued to control the game and spent more time in the Blue-and-Yellows' half, although they struggled to create chances. Marchenko had a promising opportunity to double the lead, but opted to square the ball across the face of goal instead of shooting, and the attack came to nothing. There was plenty of danger around Tkachenko's goal in the closing stages, but the score remained unchanged.
