Shakhtar goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk commented on the friendly against LNZ
– Dmytro, although today was a friendly match, the emotional intensity and commitment were impossible to miss. How would you comment on the game? How did it go overall for the team?
– It was a useful match, and emotions are the most important thing in football as you can’t play without them. Yes, we lost, but I believe we outplayed LNZ. They just took advantage of their chance. Overall, it was a good game with plenty of action from both sides. Everyone gave their all – that’s the most important thing during training camp.
– What were the scuffles during the match?
– It was mostly a surge of emotion: someone committed a foul, and within seconds everyone reacts, causing a bit of chaos. But that’s part of football.
– Can you recall and analyse the moment when Shakhtar conceded?
– We gave away an unnecessary set piece, even though we knew it was a strong point for the opponents. We missed the moment and they punished us for it.
– What do you think about the idea of Shakhtar playing a friendly against the direct competitors in the UPL during the preparation period? What are the advantages of this?
– Right now in Türkiye, there aren’t many high-level teams, and we were looking for good opponents. LNZ are also here at the camp, so why not have two strong teams play each other?
– During this camp, you spent some time on individual recovery before returning to the general group and now you’re playing in all the friendlies. How are you feeling? Is anything still bothering you?
– No, everything’s fine now. The recovery period was tough, but thankfully it’s all behind me, I’m happy to be back playing with the team again.
