Shakhtar forward Kaua Elias shared his impressions of the winning friendly against Rustavi (3-0) and summed up the winter training camp
– It’s the team’s final day at the training camp. How would you assess it for Shakhtar?
– Yes, indeed, it was a very intensive period, filled with numerous training sessions. There was a lot of work, both physical and tactical. We are very pleased to finish this period on a positive note – today we recorded two victories, which lift the mood as we prepare for the competitive part of the season. In my view, it has been a very productive month, and the most important thing now is to carry all this work into competitive games.
– You scored a brace, and the first half of the season was also very productive for you. What personal goals have you set for the second half of the season?
– First and foremost, our objectives are, of course, team-related: to win the Ukrainian Championship and go as far as possible in the UEFA Europa Conference League, as it is an extremely important tournament for us and our ambitions there are very high. As for my personal contribution, I want to increase the number of goals I scored in the first part of the season and surpass myself in the second half.
– How strong is the team’s fighting spirit now, ahead of competitive matches?
– The emotions and desire are fully felt in the dressing room. The battle in the Ukrainian Championship is in full swing, with genuinely tight competition among the teams involved. We understand the importance of the moment and how decisive every match will be – without exaggeration or unnecessary pathos. That’s why we will fight to win the gold medals and we would also like to reach the final of the UEFA Conference League. There is a lot of work ahead.
– Tomorrow we return to Ukraine. What would you like to say to our fans ahead of the official matches?
– Keep supporting us, keep rooting for us and watching our games. From our side, we promise to delight you with bright football, major achievements, goals scored and victories for Shakhtar.
