Shakhtar women’s team continue preparations for the second half of the season
Shakhtar women’s team continue to train ahead of the resumption of the Vyshcha League at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve.
The session began with traditional running exercises and activation drills to prepare the muscles for the upcoming workload. Since this time the focus was on aerobic and technical work, after the warm-up the girls moved on to targeted ball drills and a series of exercises aimed at improving passing accuracy and team play. To conclude, the coaching staff ran a small-sided game within a limited part of the pitch.
Nina Pipchenko, defender:
– We are doing a significant amount of running and preparing for the second half of the season in good spirits. Our primary goal is to secure a spot in the top five so that we can later aim for a high final standing. We are working to compete strongly with the league leaders and to achieve positive results in every match.
At the end of next week, on February 22, Shakhtar women’s team will face Mariupol in a friendly tournament dedicated to the memory of Viktoriia Chornovil. The match at the indoor arena will take place in Shchaslyve, with kickoff scheduled for 14:00.
