Shakhtar women's team continue their preparation for the second part of the season
On Wednesday, February 18, Shakhtar women's team players started the evening session with running drills, after which they moved on to exercises developing passing accuracy and decision-making speed. Next, the team focused on practising tactical elements in squares. Overall, the session lasted about an hour and concluded with a small-sided game within a limited part of the pitch.
Anastasiia Liakhovych, defender:
– We carried out intensive technical work at high speeds, practising combination plays between teammates. At the end, we played a small-sided game.
– Soon you will face Mariupol women's team in a friendly tournament. Could you share your expectations for the game and explain the objectives set by the coaching staff?
– During friendly matches, the coaching staff works on team coordination and collects information to shape the starting line-up. Above all, I aim to perform well in the games and, if possible, contribute with goal involvements. Friendly matches undoubtedly help maintain match sharpness.
– Shakhtar have less than three weeks until the start of the second stage of the Vyshcha League. What do you hope to achieve with the team in this decisive part of the season?
– My primary personal goal is to secure a place in the starting line-up, which I strive for every day. As for the team’s objectives, we aim to build our game and develop a better understanding of each other.

This coming Sunday, February 22, Shakhtar women's team will take on Mariupol in a friendly tournament dedicated to the memory of Viktoriia Chornovil. The match at the indoor arena in Shchaslyve kicks off at 14:45.
