Shakhtar U19 faced their Ferencváros counterparts in the first friendly match at the training camp in Türkiye

On Saturday, January 31, Shakhtar U19 played their first friendly match at the training camp – against Ferencváros U19. The Orange-and-Blacks’ head coach Oleksii Bielik traditionally resorted to extensive squad rotation throughout the match so that every player could get playing time. The Miners played on top and created plenty of chances near the opponents’ goal, while the outcome of the friendly was decided in the second half when Tryfanenko earned a penalty and converted it himself in the 67th minute.
Ferencváros U19 are very good opponents as they are a team that press a lot and play on the edge
Oleksii Bielik, Shakhtar U19 head coach:

– During the first week of the training camp in Türkiye, we worked on building physical condition, but then focused more on work with the ball. Overall, I’m very pleased with how the lads worked and with the positive attitude they showed while carrying out all the tasks during this period. As for the match, Ferencváros U19 are very good opponents as they are a team that press a lot and play on the edge. I’m satisfied with the performance and all the footballers who took to the pitch. We distributed the playing time among all the players and, of course, it is disappointing that the friendly scheduled for the morning was cancelled, as our aim was to give the footballers match practice. We managed to deal with this situation, and I’m very pleased with the performance, but not with the score, as we created many chances, yet our finishing let us down. If we are objective, the score should have been bigger.

Next week, the Orange-and-Blacks will play two friendly games – against Tromsø U19 (Norway) and Vejle U19 (Denmark). Information regarding the test matches may change.
