On February 27, the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland hosted the draw for the European play-offs
Shakhtar’s opponents in the UEFA Conference League Round of 16 will be Lech Poznań (Poland). The matches at this stage will take place on March 12 and 19. The Miners will play the first leg away, hosting the return match at the Synerise Arena – Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium in Kraków, Poland. Tickets are on sale.
Lech Poznań finished 11th in the Conference League league phase (10 points, goal difference: 12-8). The Polish side recorded victories over Rapid Vienna (4-1), Lausanne (2-0) and Sigma (2-1), drew with Mainz (1-1), and lost to Lincoln Red Imps (1-2) and Rayo Vallecano (2-3). In the play-off matches, Lech Poznań beat Finnish side KuPS twice (2-0, 1-0).
The rest of the tournament bracket has also been determined. Shakhtar’s opponents in the quarter-finals could be the winner of the AZ Alkmaar vs Sparta Praha tie (matches on April 9 and 16). The UEFA Conference League final will take place on May 27 in Leipzig, Germany.
