Shakhtar midfielder Yehor Nazaryna assessed the winning friendly against Riga (2-1)

– Yehor, congratulations on the win! Can you analyse Shakhtar’s clash with Riga: what went well and which areas need improvement?
– I think this match was already better than the previous one as that was only the first game and it was quite difficult. This time it was a bit easier, but there are still moments that need improving.

– How would you assess your own performance on the pitch today?
– You can always do better. And you always want to do better. Again: we’ll analyse some moments, both individual and team-related, and I hope that we’ll get better and better with each game.

– What work was done on correcting mistakes after the previous match?
– We were shown our errors, analysed them, discussed them, reviewed the game, and as a result, I think today’s performance was already better.

– What objectives does the coaching staff usually set for the team in each friendly?
– We are Shakhtar, so it doesn’t matter whether we play competitive or friendly matches – we aim to win every game. That’s the first point. The second is to work on the moments that will be important for us in the championship and in the Conference League. So we play, analyse, and I hope that we’ll be 100 percent ready by the first league match.

– Shakhtar will be playing matches every two to three days. How challenging is that schedule?
– I’d say it’s better to play than to train two or three times a day, so we’re glad to have friendlies, we've missed them, as there were none during the first 20 days of the camp. For a footballer, both friendly and competitive games are always a joy.
