Shakhtar footballers returned from their vocation and began preparations for the resumption of the championship
On Friday, January 16, Roman Zaiev’s side returned from their winter break and started preparations for the resumption of the Vyshcha League. Over the course of two days, the Orange-and-Blacks will undergo scheduled medical examinations in sub-groups to monitor their functional condition.
Shakhtar women’s team will hold their training camp at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve. The first week will be of an introductory nature, during which the players will focus mainly on aerobic and strength work. From January 22, the Miners will train twice a day and will conclude the first cycle on January 31 with a test match against Polissia Zhytomyr. In February, focused preparation for the resumption of the championship will begin.
Liudmyla Ustinova, goalkeeper:
– The holiday period went wonderfully. During this time, I was at home, surrounded by family and friends. I’m returning to work with a fighting spirit and full readiness for the training process. I was pleased to meet my teammates again.
– How do you feel after the break and in what physical condition are you approaching the training camp?
– I feel great after the break, I’m really looking forward to the start of the training process and I’m determined to work with full commitment. My physical condition is good, and I’m ready to gradually rediscover optimal from.
– An intensive period of work at the camp and the decisive part of the season lie ahead. What expectations and goals have you set for yourself during this period?
– The team’s goals are the same for everyone – to secure a place in the top five and perform with dignity in key matches. We expect a demanding training camp with two sessions a day, during which particular attention will be paid to athletics-based preparation and high-intensity work in the gym. We approach this stage of preparation responsibly and seriously and are focused on positive results.
