Picking Shakhtar’s best goal of the past 8 years
The Super Goal Battle kicks off today. Fans are invited to determine the most spectacular and the most important goal among those that won the annual Goal Battle polls.
Contending for the award are Viktor Kovalenko’s goal, which proved decisive in the match against Dynamo (2018), Taras Stepanenko’s spectacular long-ranger, also against Dynamo (2019), Alan Patrick’s goal in the Europa League clash with Benfica (2020), a fine effort by the same Alan Patrick in the battle for the Ukrainian Super Cup against Dynamo (2021), Mykhailo Mudryk’s brilliant goal in the Champions League tie with Celtic (2022), an unusual finish off his back by Yaroslav Rakitskyi in the Europa League meeting with Feyenoord (2023), a spectacular overhead kick by Shakhtar U17 player Oleksandr Chornenkyi in a DUFL match against LNZ (2024), as well as last year’s winner – Newertton’s decisive goal in the Ukrainian Classico (2025).
At the first stage, fans will choose the winners in the quarter-final pairs. Voting begins on January 3 on Shakhtar’s official Instagram page.
