Final preparations of Shakhtar women’s team for the new season
Shakhtar women’s team are completing a long preparation cycle ahead of their first competitive matches of the 2026/27 season, which will start in two days and will be played under an updated format.
On Wednesday, July 15, the Orange-and-Blacks began their session at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve with a traditional aerobic activation and speed work. The footballers then moved on to focused ball exercises and improving their combinations during a small-sided game with tactical instructions. At the end of the session, the coaching staff prepared a series of pressing exercises for the players.

– The training session was quite intense. We are maintaining our fitness, and today we worked on building out from defence into attack, as well as practising pressing.
– The training camp is now entering the final stage. What was it like for the team and for you personally?
– The camp went well. We did not have much time, but I hope we prepared well. I also hope that I have personally approached the start of the season as ready as possible and in good form.
– What are your expectations for the new season and the debut match against Polissia? What can you say about the opponents?
– It is always intriguing. All teams are growing, developing and strengthening, so the expectations are positive. We are approaching the game with maximum concentration. Polissia are quality opponents, and we always have difficult matches against them. They strengthened their squad in the summer, so they are well-equipped and ready for the season.

We remind you that this Friday, July 17, Shakhtar women’s team will start the new season with a match against Polissia Zhytomyr. The game at the Polissia TC kicks off at 12:00.
