The Orange-and-Blacks are preparing for the new season
On Saturday, July 18, the Shakhtar footballers returned after two days off and began the second stage of their summer training camp. Arda Turan's side will spend this phase of their preparations at a new location – Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Over the coming week, the Miners will alternate training days with friendlies.
Today's schedule featured a single evening session. The players began with a warm-up in pairs before working on short and medium-range passing in groups. They finished with small-sided games involving three teams.

It is worth noting that Marlon Santos and Lassina Traore returned to the general group. Gleiker Mendoza, meanwhile, missed the session for a very special reason. The Venezuelan midfielder became a father the previous day, so the coaching staff gave him time to be with his wife and their newborn son.
On Sunday, July 19, Shakhtar will play their first friendly of the pre-season against Croatian side Rudes. It kicks off at 17:00 Kyiv time.
