Shakhtar women’s team put the finishing touches to preparations for the clash with Kolos
On Thursday, July 23, Shakhtar footballers trained at the Academy base in Shchaslyve ahead of their first home match of the season against Kolos Kovalivka.
The session began with the usual activation running drills and fun sprint relays designed to boost morale and improve spatial awareness. The girls then moved on to ball work, practising their attacking and defensive play before rounding off the session with a series of shots on goal.
Liubov Mokhnach, defender:
– Kolos won't make it easy for us, so we're expecting a tough match. We watched their previous game against Kharkiv, and I can say they're a very well-prepared team, both tactically and physically.
– Is there any added responsibility or pressure ahead of your first home match?
– Absolutely. Every game brings responsibility, but we want to show quality football in front of our home fans and earn our first points.
– You've returned to football after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. How important is that for you?
– It's very important. I've worked hard and waited a long time for this moment. I'd like to thank the coaches for their trust and for giving me the opportunity to play.
Shakhtar's women team will play their first home match of the new Prime League season against Kolos tomorrow, July 24. The clash at the Arsenal Arena kicks off at 12:00. Live stream will be available on official Shakhtar’s YouTube channel and MEGOGO.
