Shakhtar U21 midfielder Vladyslav Tiutiunov reflects on the team’s preparations, atmosphere in the squad and goals for the season
– The training camp is coming to an end, with the 2026/27 season kicking off soon. How do you assess the preparation period? Was it difficult?
– We did a lot of running and spent plenty of time working in the gym, but all of that was necessary to, first of all, build up the required fitness levels and enter the season in optimal condition. I think both the team and I managed to complete everything we set out to do. We are in great shape and ready.
– There were many friendly matches during the pre-season. How informative were they and what significance did they have for you personally?
– Friendly matches during the training camp are very important, as they help us work on many tactical aspects and get the team to the required level of readiness before the season. Of course, it is not always possible to achieve a positive result, but I believe the most important thing in these games during the training camp is to work on what the coaching staff demands from us and the principles we will follow in the future.
– What mood are you in ahead of the first competitive matches of the new season?
– A great one! I’m really looking forward to their start. The atmosphere in the team is excellent, and all the lads are ready for the season. Yes, there are new people in the coaching staff, but our playing principles will not change significantly. As before, we want to dominate all opponents, and the coaches will do everything possible to help us achieve that.
– What goals have you set yourself for the 2026/27 season and what do you want to achieve with Shakhtar U21?
– I have one goal only – to keep improving with every match, make a positive impact on the result, and develop both tactically and physically. Together with the team, we also aim to keep progressing and dominate our opponents. Of course, for a club like Shakhtar, there is only one place – first. That is exactly what we will be striving for.
– What should be expected from Shakhtar U21 and what would you like to say to the fans ahead of the start of the season?
– You should expect committed performances, character and a desire to win every match from Shakhtar U21. We will do everything possible to play quality football and achieve the best possible results. I would like to thank our fans for their support and ask them to stay with us throughout the season. Your belief gives us strength!
