The Orange-and-Blacks returned to training after a day off

Shakhtar's pre-season camp in Brdo, Slovenia, is gathering momentum. On Saturday, July 4, Arda Turan's side continued their preparations, with the day dedicated to testing.

In the morning, the coaching staff split the players into groups and put them through a series of strength tests in the gym. Performing demanding exercises, the footballers had the strength of their leg, abdominal and core muscles assessed. The coaching staff closely monitored each player, recording the results in a central database for further analysis.

In the afternoon, the squad headed out to the pitch for a lactate test to determine how their bodies cope with physical exertion and fatigue. It involves the players running a series of intervals lasting several minutes, with the intensity increasing gradually. Afterwards, the medical staff use an analyser to measure blood lactate levels.

Pre-season work will continue on Sunday. It will be a particularly busy day for Shakhtar, with the players set to complete three training sessions for the first time at this camp. Follow the latest updates on the official website shakhtar.com and the club’s social media channels.
