Introducing Shakhtar’s new assistant coach Murat Özkütükçü
– Welcome to Shakhtar! Tell us a bit about yourself.
– My name is Murat Özkütükçü and I’m assistant coach. Before that, I was a professional footballer, I played and then worked in Türkiye.
– What will your responsibilities be within the coaching staff?
– My main area of responsibility will be tactical planning. Of course, I will also take part in the team’s preparation and help implement the training process together with the other members of the coaching staff. In addition, I will assist the analysis department whenever needed.
– What are your first impressions of the team and how does it feel to be working with Arda Turan?
– My first impression of Shakhtar is that it is a group full of positivity and good spirits. The players have a huge desire to succeed and an enormous determination to win. As for Mr Turan, he is one of the legends of Turkish football. I believe he has made a very strong start to his coaching career. Of course, being a footballer and being a coach are two different stages of a career, but the way he has begun his coaching journey and the work he is doing now deserve the highest praise, in my opinion. Personally, I’m very happy to see him in this role.
– What does it mean for you to be part of Shakhtar and to work at this club?
– I believe Shakhtar is a truly great club. Its level is impressive! I’m pleased to join a team that became champions last season and will compete in the Champions League league phase. All of this makes me very happy and fills me with enthusiasm.
– What goals do you set for yourself at Shakhtar and what can you say about the upcoming season?
– My aim is to help the team maintain their success and to achieve new major victories together.
