Shakhtar women's team are approaching the start of the new season
On Thursday, July 9, after a one-day break, the Orange-and-Blacks returned to training at the Academy base in Shchaslyve and continued their preparations for the first competitive match of the new season.
The session began with interval running drills and speed relays, followed by a focus on tactical aspects of the game. To finish, the players worked on counterattacks with a final shot on goal.

– The training session went really well. After a break, it always takes some time to get used to the workload again, but the team quickly got back into a working rhythm. The mood is great, everyone is focused on working productively and preparing for the start of the season.
– Shakhtar will play in a new league format in the upcoming season. How do you assess the changes and what do you think the level of competition will be like?
– The new format will make the league even more interesting. There will be more important matches, where every point will matter a lot. Competition is growing, and there definitely won’t be any easy games. For us, the main thing is to do our job well and give our maximum in every match.
– The first match is against Polissia Zhytomyr in a week. How do you assess your readiness for the start of the season and what can you say about the opponents?
– I feel good, I’m gradually getting back to my best form and I’m already ready for the beginning of the season. We still have a few more days of preparation to make sure we are in the best condition for the first match. We know that Polissia are an organised team who fight until the final whistle. We are approaching the game with the utmost seriousness and will do everything we can to start the season successfully.
