Shakhtar Stalevi took part in the third round of the Ukrainian Amputee Football Championship
On June 13–14, following an intensive training cycle, Shakhtar Stalevi played their matches of the third round of the Ukrainian Amputee Football Championship Super League at the Skif Stadium in Lviv.
Kolos-Burevii 1-0 (0-0) Shakhtar Stalevi
The opening stages of the match saw a positional battle for initiative and possession. The Kovalivka side looked the more dangerous, and in the 8th minute, Semeniuk came to the rescue of the Orange-and-Blacks after a long-range effort. The Miners responded immediately, with Nedzelskyi finding himself in a promising shooting position, but the defenders reacted in time to block the forward’s attempt. The visitors created a good opportunity to take the lead just before the break when Nedzelskyi struck following a set piece routine, but the home goalkeeper made the save. The second half began with a chance for Kolos-Burevii, as Buzeruk rattled the crossbar with a powerful direct effort from a set piece. The sides then exchanged attacks, but the match was decided in stoppage time when Potapenko found the net with the winning goal.
Goal: 1-0 Potapenko (40+1′)
Shakhtar Stalevi: Semeniuk, Romaniuk, Volynets (c), Nedzelskyi, Ivashenko, Skrytskyi, Mykhasiuk
Vikinhy 2-4 (1-1) Shakhtar Stalevi
The Orange-and-Blacks started brightly, with Nedzelskyi seeing his effort flash just centimetres wide of the post. In the 4th minute, the Miners had a chance to take the lead when the referee awarded a penalty, but Nedzelskyi failed to hit the target. The Miners enjoyed more possession and played fluidly around Vikinhy’s penalty area. Their pressure paid off in the 9th minute when Romaniuk finished off a well-worked move to put the Pitmen ahead. Soon afterwards, he came close to doubling his tally after going through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but he pushed the ball too far ahead of himself, allowing the keeper to narrow the angle and avert the danger. In the 17th minute, the Pitmen doubled their advantage as Ivashenko converted from the penalty spot. Vikinhy made the stronger start to the second half, and in the 22nd minute, Konon reduced the deficit to a single goal. It took the Miners just two minutes to respond. Romaniuk controlled the ball, worked his way into a shooting position and found the bottom corner. In the 32nd minute, Vikinhy pulled another goal back when Trukhanskyi followed up the play after a throw-in and fired into the net. Ivashenko put the seal on the victory in stoppage time with a successful penalty.
