Shakhtar Stalevi defeated Metalist 1925 Nezlamni in the Ukrainian Amputee Football quarter-finals
On Saturday, March 14, Shakhtar Stalevi played against Metalist 1925 Nezlamni in the Ukrainian Amputee Football Cup quarter-finals organized by the Ukrainian Association of Football as part of the League of the Mighty social project.
The Orange-and-Blacks started the match quickly and were ahead by the 3rd minute following a set piece: Mykhasiuk delivered a pass into the central zone to Romaniuk, who aimed carefully and sent the ball into the bottom corner with a precise shot. The Kharkiv side responded with a dangerous chance in the 7th minute, when Inshakov struck on the second attempt and hit the crossbar. The battle continued with exchanged scoring opportunities, but the more skilful side were the Miners, who doubled their lead in stoppage time of the first half through Nedzelskyi.
The start of the second half passed without any dangerous moments. In the 30th minute, the Miners were reduced to ten men after Romaniuk received a second yellow card. Taking advantage of the numerical superiority, Metalist 1925 Nezlamni tried to turn the game around, while Shakhtar Stalevi played defensively and mainly threatened the opponents’ goal from set pieces.
